We just finished another exciting, fun and successful season here at Wild Rose Whitetails. The season started out warm, like 15 C warm, but with lots of deer, it was kind of enjoyable not to freeze on stand or out hunting.
We saw and harvested some great deer this year and we also harvested the best trophy whitetail we have ever taken. At 205 6/8 gross Non-Typical BC and a net 200 non-typical, this deer has it all. The score does not show his true size. His tines are 4 inches around, beams with 7.4 inch mass, he is truly a deer of many lifetimes.
From stalking a buck from a mile away and shooting him at 10 yards, to catching bucks crossing a meadow from a ground blind, we had a very fun and enjoyable 2005 hunting season.
To top everything off, the last day, my friend, Barry Lundy, shot a huge 6x5 that grosses 184. You can't ask for a better season than this one was but we know with all the big bucks we've seen since season ended, that next year (2006) should be even better!
